Reference: Megami Tensei Wiki

Setting: I direct you to this handy link! TL;DR version is this is a Persona 3 AU, WITH MONSTERS!

Personality:
Cold and professional, Mitsuru strives for poise and perfection in all things. Her demeanor is one of icy calm, and she takes care to never let her mask of young refined heiress slip. (When it DOES slip, hilarity and/or heartbreak ensues.)

Her default setting is one of politeness, albeit very distant politeness. She also projects confidence and authority. For Mitsuru, the situation she thrives in is one where she can hold a large amount of responsibility. She is a driven young woman, whether that’s in upholding her grades, her family name, or eliminating Shadows. Perhaps it isn’t surprising then, that she saves her harshest criticisms for herself and holds herself to exacting standards.

Mitsuru is VERY specialized when it comes to social situations; anything that can be categorized as professional, high class, or academic she excels in. Anything else is firmly outside of her knowledge. (Some of it she also finds fascinating… but only when observed at a safe and isolated distance. While Mitsuru has a fondness for new experiences, actually undertaking them alone can be a challenge for her.)

She also has the emotional range and experience of an ice cube. Her cool and polite front is the only aspect of herself she’s all that comfortable with; attempts to drag her outside of that typically end with Mitsuru desperately throwing up her barriers and distancing herself from whatever caused her emotions to fluctuate. Vulnerability of any sort is unthinkable for her to display, as is emotional openness. (And sadly emotional openness and vulnerability are synonymous to her.)

A key thing to keep in mind with this AU is that Mitsuru takes pains to NOT feel anything when it comes to her situation. Through the will of her family she is now an aberration, and she will be the best shapeshifting abomination they could possibly ask for. She’s determined to carry out the will of the group and use her available weapons and skills to eliminate the Dark Hour; personal emotions like horror, disgust, or rage DO NOT enter into the situation as far as Mitsuru is concerned. They aren’t needed to fight Shadows, or accomplish the goals of her family.

All things considered, it’s probably a good thing her father is the one guiding the Group, and that he has SOME morals he’s managed to impart on Mitsuru. While her moral compass has yet to fully stabilize (she’s fine with lying through omission, and feels the ends justify the means more often than not) Mitsuru holds some qualities in high esteem; steadiness, responsibility, and an unfailing resolve to the greater good.

Suffice to say, Mitsuru has a bit of a martyr complex going on. She’ll gladly take on the role of being an ice queen, if in her eyes it serves a greater purpose. And since that role is the only one she knows that delivers results, Mitsuru clings to it as a constant.

Abilities:
Arguably Mitsuru’s greatest strength is her mind. She has a strong leaning to academics; if she can study it in books, odds are she can learn it. Her strongest subjects tend to be classic literature and mythology, along with linguistics. Mitsuru is fluent in English and Japanese, and has a basic understanding of French as well. Added to this is a strong business sense. She can easily calculate advantages, costs, and benefits, and keeps her head cool under pressure; whether that’s a tense meeting between suits, or a deadly fight between monsters.

In terms of arcane powers, Mitsuru has command over ice thanks to her Persona. She can weave the element out of thin air and shape it to her whim. Typically she opts for spikes and blades of ice, complimenting her proficiency with a rapier. She also has access to minor healing spells, typically best suited for healing minor wounds or stabilizing more serious ones.

And last of all, Mitsuru’s AU-given powers. Thanks to the warped nature of her world, her ability to use a Persona has further fractured her identity, reflecting up different aspects of it as monstrous forms she can adopt in the Dark Hour. (And potentially other circumstances, but that’s for a later scenario.) This is also the ability Mitsuru has the LEAST control over. It’s often a toss of the dice on what form she’ll take on during the Dark Hour, plus what her level of humanity and control will be. Mitsuru strives to have a better grasp on her forms, but it’s something that still eludes her.

MONSTER FORMS
Empusa:
Initial art by player
Mitsuru’s default, basic form. It’s main advantage is in speed and agility. Added to that is light armor in the form of scales, along with sharp hooves, talons, and teeth. The form also has good resonance with her Persona and can freely use ice spells, and with some concentration, healing spells.
